Why are we here today?
Why are we here today on the 18th of May after 4 years after the massacres of thousands of our people in cold blood in Mullivaikkal?
Are we here simply to remember the passing away of our loved ones? No, we are not here only for that. We are here for a greater reason. Beneath the pain of the loss of our dearest ones there is a deep down secret that we know.
We are here to proclaim that secret to the whole world. What is that secret? Even when they were threatened with total annihilation with unbearable firepower the Tamil people could not be forced into subjugation. That is the truth we proclaim to the whole world today.
Therefore, we are here not to remember our weakness, or a defeat or a loss. We are here to remember and celebrate the amazing and awesome human spirit, courage and the will to freedom of our people.
Our celebration therefore is a statement that we make to the world that the Tamil people did not give up their will to freedom even faced with death. A people who are determined to win their collective freedom as a nation cannot be conquered even by such mass murder.

Kære arbejder og arbejdernes repræsenter,
Først og fremmest ønsker vi jer alle en god kampdag, 1. maj, dagen der rummer 124 års historie, som i dag sikrer os arbejdere vores rettigheder.
1. maj 1889 mødte over 50 000 arbejdere op på Fælledparken, da politiet forbød dem i at demonstrere på gaderne. Dette skete på trods af, at mange blev truet med at blive fyret fra arbejdet, hvis de deltog i 1. maj-demonstrationer. Modigt og viljestærkt kæmpede vores forfædre som blandt andet resulterede i det balancerede arbejde, fritid og hvile forhold ,som vi kender det i dag. Vores minder og tanker går til vores stolte forfædre og diverse fagforeninger, der alle kæmpede for vores rettigheder.
Thisaigals workshop
På dagen vil I blive præsenteret for Thisaigal og vores arbejde. Dagen vil forløbe med oplæg, øvelser, fællesopgaver osv. med teambuilding som hovedfokus.
